On November 27, MSCI, a globally renowned index provider, released its 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) rating updates. Ganfeng Lithium, thanks to its outstanding performance in ESG, once again earned an “A” rating.
The rating report highlights that Ganfeng Lithium’s overall score improved compared to last year, with notable excellence in several key issues. The company ranks as an industry leader in Opportunities in Clean Tech, Water Stress, and Corporate Governance. Additionally, it outperforms industry averages in crucial areas such as Carbon Emissions, Toxic Emissions & Waste, Health & Safety, Corporate Behaviour.
MSCI, a global institution providing indexes and related financial products, is widely referenced by investors. According to MSCI, Ganfeng Lithium has implemented stronger decarbonization measures than its peers, made significant strides in water conservation, and effectively leveraged clean technology to drive business growth.
Over the past year, we have intensified our efforts in energy conservation and emission reduction. Across our factories in Jiangxi, Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, and Hunan, we introduced advanced steam recompression technology, reducing evaporation energy consumption to approximately one-quarter of traditional methods. At the Fengcheng factory, the adoption of new automation technologies and equipment significantly improved energy efficiency. Meanwhile, in Kunming, Yunnan, soil reclamation and environmental restoration work at our mining sites is progressing steadily.
Compared to the previous year, Ganfeng’s score in the Health & Safety indicator saw a significant improvement. Building on a robust safety management system, we enhanced transparency in occupational health and safety management, increased investments in personnel, training, and technology, and ensured that our commitment to health and safety is reflected in daily operations.
Furthermore, the rating report recognizes Ganfeng Lithium as one of the highest-scoring companies globally in corporate governance, underscoring the alignment between the company’s governance practices and the protection of investor interests. Ganfeng deeply values the importance of sound, compliant governance for long-term success and continues to foster an efficient and transparent organizational governance framework.
